The primary group, which focuses on the race year round, is the Executive Staff and includes:

-    Race Director Alan Heary, who is a graduate of DCU and is a performance consultant with national and international athletes.  He has in the last six years organised many sporting events.  

-    PJ Nolan, who has been much associated with cycling for many years and a former Cycling Ireland President, is the head official with the Race Around Ireland, and brings all his experience to the events.

-    Joe Roche has worked for many years with Cycling Ireland and designed some of the most breath-taking routes for major Irish Cycling events.  He is the chief route designer for this project and has outdone himself with the 2100 km route around Ireland.

-    Emmet Roche not only works with Joe designing the route but, works year round promoting the race on the internet and local media from around the country.

-    Lorraine Lewis works full time as the administrator for the event bringing the skills she used during her years working in the Banking Sector in the City of London, as PA to senior personnel, and organising in-house events for the company.

-    Caroline Martinez is also joining the RAI staff as Race PR.  A competitive cyclist, she has experience as Press Officer for the UCI Tour of Ireland in 2008 and 2009, has worked in radio broadcasting, and is English/French bilingual.

During the race there are dozens of people who help in various capacities from Marshals to Time Station Staff to Headquarters.
