What made you make up your mind to take part in this event?
I did RAW last year and though I finished the course, I did not make the cutoff. I learned a lot, and want to challenge myself once again at a 5ish day race. Plus, I’ve never been to Ireland, and this is a fabulous way to see it!
What concerns do you have about the Race Around Ireland?
The rollers… I’m coming from Colorado where the climbs are shallow and long. Lots of short steep rollers will take a different mentality. Oh, and the rain! I’m already sacrificing to the weather gods to get good weather!
What are you most looking forward to in the Race Around Ireland?
Seeing Ireland!

Who do you most admire in sport and why?
Little kids on the soccer field. They run around, screaming with joy, and just having a blast. Sport can be so serious, especially when you spend so much time training to accomplish crazy things. I try to always find the little kid in me, seeing the world from my bike.
